Founded in 1970 by Henry Barnwell, Insurance Consultants Limited introduced a one-stop service to their clients, offering bespoke commercial insurance solutions tailored to meet every need.
In 1995, Henry’s son, Nigel Barnwell, joined the business. Since then, Nigel has not only successfully grown the family business but has also continued to nurture and strengthen the long-lasting relationships built by his father. Many of these client relationships date back to the 1970s—an extraordinary testament to the trust and dedication that defines Insurance Consultants Limited.
Over the years, the insurance industry has evolved significantly. As businesses expanded and client needs became more complex, Insurance Consultants Limited adapted and grew alongside them. Today, the company provides an extensive range of products, including commercial insurance, motor and home cover, as well as pensions and life assurance.
Nigel and his team have always been committed to delivering exceptional service, ensuring every client’s needs are met with care and expertise. Their values closely align with those of Hastings Insurance, making this partnership a natural fit.
This connection is deeply rooted in history—Nigel’s late father worked closely with Hastings Insurance founder, David McDermott in promoting Brokers interests within the market forging a strong professional relationship that paved the way for this exciting collaboration.
