Hastings Insurance Brokers (Hastings) is incredibly proud to announce that it has secured the official naming rights to MacHale Park, the home grounds of Mayo GAA, as part of a long-term partnership deal with Mayo GAA. MacHale Park will now be known as “Hastings Insurance Brokers MacHale Park“.
Founded in Westport in 1980 by David and Mary McDermott, Hastings is a proud family-owned insurance broking group providing commercial and personal lines insurance solutions to business and retail customers across its Mayo heartlands and beyond. In recent years, the now Castlebar-headquartered business has successfully established itself as one of the largest providers of quality insurance services in Ireland with branches across 8 locations including Castlebar, Westport, Claremorris, Ballina, Tuam, Galway city, Sligo, and most recently, Dublin, following the acquisition of Thompson Insurances earlier this month (see press release here).
Paul McDermott, Managing Director of Hastings Insurance Brokers, said: “As a family-owned business steeped in the GAA, and the wider Mayo, community for decades, we are absolutely delighted to announce this partnership with Mayo GAA. At Hastings, we have been a long-standing supporter of Mayo GAA including sponsoring local clubs at various levels and codes for a number of years, and so this new sponsorship deal is built on very solid foundations, and one that we are excited to develop further with Mayo GAA in the years ahead.
The people of Mayo are hugely passionate GAA supporters and the management and staff of Hastings have all been awed by the commitment, skill and leadership shown by our county teams, both the men and ladies, in recent decades. MacHale Park is a very special place for many of us, and so to see and hear the Hastings Insurance Brokers brand connected with it, is our way of helping support the inspiring efforts of all the players and management to ensure GAA in Mayo continues to thrive in the years to come.”
The new partnership deal was announced at the Mayo County Board meeting on 29th July 2021.
Commenting on their new partnership with Hastings, Liam Moffatt, Mayo GAA Chairperson said that: “On behalf of Mayo GAA I would like to welcome our new partner who have deep roots in the community and in the GAA. Hastings Insurance are a well-known and reputable company and we look forward to working with them for many years. MacHale Park is a prestigious GAA stadium with an immense history over the last 90 years. This partnership works in tandem with the other progressions that will occur in the stadium in the future” commented Moffatt.”
